Entrance : As we all know that everyone wants to decorate their entrance for positive vibration. People used to place idols, especially Lord Ganesha Idol at the entrance. But it is very inauspicious to place them at the entrance. The place of idols is mandir not at the entrance. You can place any auspicious symbols like OM, SWASTIK etc at the entrance for attracting positive energies. People place plants at the entrance but according to the vastu rules there isa particular zone to place plants to balance the energies. And it’s not necessary that your entrance is in that zone. And please don’t use artificial flowers or plants in decoration. Some people used to place fountains at the entrance and this is a big mistake that they make. If your entrance is in the North then it is auspicious otherwise it is inauspicious. Because North is the Zone of water element and fountain represents the water element. So place it according to the directions.
Mandir/Puja room: Now come to the place of placing idols. Today people have started using idols as decoration items. They place them in their show window to give the classy looks. But it is a big mistake they make. The place of idols is to be placed in mandir and also ensure NE direction of your space is the direction of placing mandir or planing puja room. If it is not possible it can also be placed in the East direction. Don’t keep multiple idols of a single god. And the height of idols must be 2-3 ft. Always curtain your mandir.
Washroom: One more mistake that most of the people do is they use to keep storage in the washroom. Washroom is the area of disposal and area from where negative energies enter. So , never use it as a store room. Keep the washroom neat and clean. Don’t clutter it, use fragrance, you can also use sea salt to purify the washroom area. Sea salt has energy to absorb negativity. Always keep the washroom door closed.
Bed/furniture: Another mistake that many people do is they prefer storage beds that totally touch the floor. But according to Vastu principle, the box bed is not compliant because it stops Geo-energy from reaching us due to storage in it while sleeping. We should always prefer a normal bed without a storage box, if you have a storage box then ensure there must be a leg under it or in any furniture items. Mirrors can be placed only in the North or East direction. One should always be careful while using the mirror in the bedroom. Kitchen: Never go for an open kitchen, it is against vastu rules. But today many people use it to maketheir kitchen open. Always keep your kitchen clutter free and in an organized way. The kitchen must be in the SE direction as it is the zone of fire. Never aligned sink and cook top on a single slab. Keep all the storage towards the South of the kitchen.
